PROMO SHOOT FOR THE BAND RELENTLESS

I have really been lame on posting some sweet photo shoots the past few weeks!  So many fun ones to share.  I have been LOVING all my seniors, brides and families and can't wait to show you some of my most favorite shoots yet. I have some new wedding invite designs to share that I think you will LOVE. For now I am posting about a promo shoot that I did with the killer band RELENTLESS. They are a new country band located in Salt Lake city, and they know how to jam.  Dusti Jones (the hot chicka in the band) asked me to do some promo photos for them a few weeks ago and I couldn't  resist:)  Dusti and I have been friends since jr. high, and I loved getting to catch up with her a bit.  She has an INCREDIBLE voice and know how to play a mean guitar.  One neat thing about this band is Dusti's brother Austin is the lead singer.  He is AMAZING and is quite the performer.  Jeremy is the other guitarist and back up singer for the band.  I got to meet him for the first time at the shoot and he was hilarious.  You should all go check out their facebook page HERE.  They have posted a few videos of them performing live:)  Hope you enjoy the photos!

THE ODDS OF BEING HOME// CREATIVE PROJECT W/ KIM SHELBY

I am so excited to share this post! I am a little behind on sharing it, but I felt like this was one of the best shoots to post about to start the new year.  So a few posts back I gave a sneak peak on a photoshoot I did for Kim Shelby.  Kim is an incredible artist who I absolutely LOVE working with.  Kim asked for my help on a project she was working on for her portfolio.  She was designing a magazine spread and wanted me to do the photography for it.   I was ecstatic about the shoot, and not only about taking photos, but about the theme and idea behind it all.

Kim gathered her three best friends together to create a spread about each individual dreams and goals in life. All 4 of these women are best friends from the same town, but have gone to do completely  different things in life.  Kim did an amazing job with the magazine spread. This is a little glimpse of her design work. You can see more of her work HERE.  Below, and in the magazine spread are images I took for this project.  I couldn't get over how much fun I had during this! Ahhhh!  I love collaborating with other artists. I want to do more of this! To see all the images click the READ MORE tab below!

SPANISH FORK HOMECOMING! Not your average school dance pics.

Check out some of Spanish Forks Seniors!!! Wow, what an awesome group of people! When I got the call to see if I would take pictures of this bunch I was instantly thinking of fun ideas for this group.  I was told that they wanted more options, and more exciting pictures than those you get at a regular school dance. Seriously, why did I not think of this when I was a senior!!?? Such a great idea.  Well I did my best and here are a few of the pictures that came out of it! Each couple had awesome outfits and great personalities.  It is soooo much fun to shoot people who like to be silly and act out in front of the camera.  This whole group was like that! I brought along the balloons because I though it would give the whole photo shoot a more fun and crazy feel.  They were a hit.  Spanish Fork seniors, it was so much fun getting to know you guys! Good luck with your last and final year!!! LIVE IT UP!

TOOTHPICKS, STYRAFOAM, AND FLOWERS: Easy DIY project!

So this past weekend the sister and i had to make a huge dinner for her cooking club! I was in charge of the dessert, appetizer, and drinks ( she gave me stuff that would be hard to mess up haha). I was also in charge of decorating the table as well.  We wanted it to be light and springy and i really wanted flowers for it too. This is one of the fun projects we decided on and i LOVED how it turned out.  I thought you might like it as well.  Here is the easy step by step process of making them! Enjoy!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Ha! I love Valentines day!!!! It has always been one of my most favorite holidays ever since i was little.  I know most people complain about this holiday and never really have great things to say about it...But i LOVE it!  I think it was my mom that got me hooked on it.  When i was little my mom taught dance in our basement and when this holiday came around she would really go above and beyond for it.  There would be valentines hanging up all over the dance room, we would play games for most of class, and then she would invite us upstairs for homemade sugar cookies.  I really thought it was so cool how much stuff she would get out and do for this holiday. I have always loved the idea of sending little notes to those you care about, and celebrating with those we love.  I know some people just dread this holiday, but for some reason i just can't get enough of it! Ha ha!  So one of the main traditions for the ladies in my family are to make homemade chocolates for all our friends and neighbors.  I can't really remember a lot about my mom making these but my sister tells me about how fun it was to watch and learn from her.  The past few years i haven't been home to learn how to make these chocolates, but this year i was!  I was so excited to get to do this!  I had always seen the finished product, but have never really been a part of the whole process, so i was way excited to do all of it!

THE GALLERY WAS A SUCCESS! A big thanks to everyone who came and supported!

Wow this post is WAY overdue!  But it was pretty much all i did my last semester of college and i think that it deserves some blogging time! So this past semester Megan Valantine and i had to come up with a new photography series that dealt with landscape.  We had the entire semester to to come up with an idea, complete a series of work, and show our finished pieces in a gallery.  At first i though 'an entire semester for one project!!!! This will be a breeeeeeze!'  Ha, my thoughts about that changed very quickly.  I have never had such a busy semester!!! 18.5 credits that included an internship and the gallery was an extra BIG project on the side.

Project cast shoot for THE HUNGER GAMES!

'The Hunger Games', What an amazing book! For the past year i have had numerous people ask me if i had ever read any of the books, and unfortunately i hadn't until now! I have finally started on the first book and can't put it down!!!!  So about a month ago Kim Shelby, a student and crazy talented designer/photographer/videographer at SUU asked me to do a photo shoot for a project she has been working on for her senior portfolio showcase next semester...
