OUR WEDDING DAY VIDEO

Andi & Jacki's Same Day Edit from David Perry on Vimeo.

There are so many pictures and fun details about the wedding that I want to share with you!!! It was truly one of the best days EVER. I loved everything about it.  But I am going do a little show and tell about our wedding video!!! At one of my bridal showers I was given a gift that totally made me jump out of my seat.  My aunt and a few family friends all pitched in and hired David Perry to shoot my wedding.  I was almost in tears.  If you haven't seen David's stuff you MUST check it out. And you can do so HERE. I remember seeing all my cousins videos from their wedding day that he did, they were incredible.  There was no way I could afford it though with everything else that had to be done.  I knew I would love it, but knew that there were some things I would have to leave out.  At my bridal shower I opened up the gift.  It was a cool, silver CD case that said  David Perry Films.  I FREAKED.  I couldn't believe it. I was sooooo excited!!!
I had talked to David once through email about what song we wanted. We chose One Republic's "Good Life". It's one of my favorites, and it worked so well with the video. The day of the wedding we had a blast (well I had lot's of fun, but Andy had food poisoning and wasn't feelin to hot, darn.) making the movie.  We felt like movie stars walking through the streets having a videographer and photographer following us haha.  It is amazing to me how fast David could put everything together.  He had it done just in time for the reception.  The first time I saw it, I started to cry.  It was perfect. Everything about it. I thought that after the wedding Andy and I would only watch it like once or twice a year...But Andy and I watch this video ALL the time haha. We can't get enough of it.    David Perry is incredibly talented and we felt so lucky to have him part of our big day.  Thanks David, and thanks to my aunt Suzanne and all of you who helped get this for us.  It truly was the perfect gift.

Here is one of the pictures from our bridal session!!! Abbey Kyhl from AK Studio Design did all of our bridals and wedding day pictures!  So excited to post more!

THE HONEYMOONERS ARE BACK!

We are back!!! The wedding was INCREDIBLE!!!  We seriously had the BEST DAY EVER:) Other than the fact that Andy had food poisoning that morning...But he was a trooper and made it through with a smile haha.  I can't wait to share some of our photos and our wedding video (I LOVE this video).  Everything was perfect.  So many people put time and effort into this big day.  And I couldn't be more grateful.  So Andy and I had talked a little about where we should go on the honeymoon and we had come to the conclusion to do something a little smaller now and go on a bigger trip in the summer.  I was a big fan of the idea, so we decided on Sun Valley, Idaho.  Haha I know what you are thinking right now. IDAHO???? For a honeymoon??? And that was my first thought as well.  But once we did some reasearch on the place, it looked like a blast!  Snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, etc. Totally something Andy and I would enjoy:) We only had the weekend because of busy season with Andy's work.  But it was the perfect amount of time.  It's got a park city feel to it, and we love that.  But little did I know....Andy had other plans.  The morning after our wedding Andy said we had to be to the airport by 11.  I was stoked not have to drive to Sun Valley, but was surprised at the same time.  Once we got inside the airport and got our tickets I saw where we were really going!!!!!! CATALINA ISLAND!!!!! I was soooo excited!!! I had been there once for only half a day, and was so excited to go back and see everything there. Catalina is a small island in California.  It has a tropical, beachy vibe and most of the transportation is with golf carts and bikes (how cool is that:)   Here are a few pictures from our rockin honeymoon!!! We did just about everything you could do there.

While we were there the island was having an ocean clean up.  TONS of scuba divers from all over California and Oregon came to help with it.  It was fun watching them all get ready and take off into the ocean.  I had no idea how much equipment you need when scuba diving.  It is definitely something I have to do soon!

This is one of the killer hikes we went on while we were there.  We hiked around 7 miles to get to this spot.  You could see the clouds covering the tops of the mountains and could walk right through them.  This hike was up and around the botanical gardens in Catalina.  The hike was called 'Island in the sky'.

The structure below was in the botanical gardens. It is at the southern most end of Avalon canyon and was built as a tribute for William Wrigley Jr.  This was probably one of my favorite places we went.  This place had the coolest plants, and this building was incredible.

The little cars below were what the locals drive around the island.  The island is FULL of golf carts and bicycles.  Andy and I rented both and cruised around the entire island with them.  We had heard that in order to own a car you had to have lived on the island for at least 5 years.

WE HAD A BLAST HERE!!! It was such a fun honeymoon:) But we are glad to be back and having a a fun getting back into the swing of things:)  I have lots of fun new shoots and projects coming your way!  So excited to share.

LOVELY LITTLE DETAILS

Ahhhhhhh! 2 days left!!! I can't believe how fast time has flown.  The dress is here and I couldn't be happier, the photographer is amazing, the cake will be perfect, the decorations are to die for, and the tiny little details are about finished.  Oh and that boy I am going to marry has been the best part of it all. I have been a little stressed the past few days (I have been a crazy, hot mess to say the least haha) but Andy has been reminding me that we should just focus on having fun.  We are two crazy kids who love having fun. I can't wait to seal the deal with this boy.  Best decision yet. But Can I tell you how much fun getting all these little details finished  have been?? Ahhhh!  I have loved this part!

That fun woodland look and feel is what are wedding theme is based around.  I had always planned on having a summer outdoor wedding, but when summer wasn't an option we decided to bring some of that outdoor goodness inside:) We have a fun hot chocolate bar with caramel apple cider (BEST DRINK EVER!!!) for dessert, as well as the best flippin cinnamon rolls you ever tasted!!! Can't wait.  The reception will be a blast!   I can't wait to post some pictures of our bridals!!! They turned out great! Andy worked it:) Below are pictures from my wedding pinterest board.  You can kind of get a feel of how things will look at the reception here.

These are the hot chocolate/cider cups that will be used.  I thought I would design a little logo on the cups.  They are too fun:)

Here are the wedding colors!!!! I chose salmon pink, olive green, dark brown, and tan.  These look killer together.  I am in LOVE with this salmon pink color!!! All the bridesmaids will be in brown or tan dresses of their choice.  They get to accessorize with salmon pink and olive green.  I can't wait to see them all together.

Here are the lovely shoes! These were kind of a last second thing...but I love what I got.  I didn't want to be taller than Andy at the wedding, so I went with flats.  I found these sparkly Steve Maddens at the mall and thought they would be perfect:)

Here is the lovely bouquet!!! This is from our bridal session, so it's a little worn and torn, but I think it is perfect!!! Those little jars on the side are what we will have hanging around the reception.  How cute are those!!!??  Ha, well the big day is about here! I can't tell you how excited I am for this. And the best part... I get to be with the coolest, hottest, funniest, smartest guys ever:)  The next few days are going to be some of the best days yet:)

OUR INVITES ARE IN!!! A little look at our announcements:)

THEY ARE FINALLY HERE!!!!  One of the things I was most excited about during the whole planning process was designing our invites.  I had been constantly thinking if I should just let someone else design them to avoid a major headache, but I am glad I went for it.  I wanted something different. Something I hadn't seen before, and something that I could really make unique.  This is what I came up with:)  I had seen SOOO many different invitation ideas, and loved a ton of them. I just didn't know what I wanted more or less of.  Our wedding theme has a little woodland/outdoor theme to it.  Our colors are olive green, salmon pink, tan, and brown. I wanted to use a little of the theme on the invite, so I chose to sketch out the roses and leaves that will be at the reception.

Here are a few of the sketches I did for the invite.  I started out by just drawing roses and leaves and them scanned them into the computer.  I messed with the contrast and clarity a bit, then brought them over to photo-shop where I had some fun painting them.

The back was the hardest part of the whole process for me.  I wasn't sure if I should just stick with the classic look of wedding invitations, or go with a more modern/hip feel.  I was worried that those getting them might think they were a little tacky, or completely inappropriate for the occasion, (I tend to think too much about what other think of my work!) but I went for it anyway and was very happy about the finished product:)

I designed little tags for the registry and luncheon as well.  Those are strung onto black hemp which is tied around the invitation with a bow tying it off. You can't see them on the pictures, but little black eyelets where added to the registry and luncheon. That is one of my favorite parts:) So If you gave me your address, then you will be able to see that little surprise detail:) I love getting wedding announcements with something attached, I think it is so fun to have tags and little reminders included. Something so simple seems to add a lot to the whole package:) I also designed our temple invites, those are just placed inside the envelope.

This whole design process was a BLAST! I'm sure Andy is relieved that I am done with this little project.  I asked him over and over again, "do you like it?" "what should I change?" "will your family hate it?" "are people going to think it's lame?"  Ha ha! Luckily he gave me all the support and compliments I needed to go forward with it.  I hope you all like it!  If you haven't sent me your address yet and want one, write it down on the comment section below! I would love to send you one:)  Less than a month away!  YAY!

OUR ENGAGEMENT PICTURES ARE DONE!!! SO EXCITED:)

The big day is getting closer!!! The dress has been bought, the place has been reserved, the times are all set, and the invites are close to being done.  To bad there is about 100 more things to do haha.  But one thing I am way excited about are our engagement pictures are finished!  I was so happy with the way they turned out:) A big thanks goes out to the amazing photographer, Jelissa Cameron.  Jelissa is one of Andy and my good friends, and she is crazy talented behind the camera. You can check out her fun blog HERE. She travels all over the world and takes some incredible pictures of her adventures.

We had to do two days of shooting for these because the weather was in a bad mood for our first attempt.  We still went ahead and took a bunch of pictures however, and I actually really liked the way some of them turned out!  You will see those ones towards the end.  Andy and I wanted fun pictures of us that really showed what we were like.  We got Andy's motorcycle out because that is what we are riding 90% of the summer and fall. I am in love with that bike and keep telling Andy he needs to get another one so I can have his haha.  I chose to take pictures up emigration canyon because that is my absolute FAVORITE drive to go on with Andy. I would make him take me up there every time we were downtown haha.  It is serisouly one of the prettiest canyons I have been in during the summer and fall. You need to go and check it out if you haven't already.

So Andy was pretty nervous about this shoot because he thinks he looks like a weirdo in front of the camera, oh and you can rarely catch him with his eyes open once you snap a shot haha! He would tell me that we needed to practice before hand.  You are too funny Andy.  Hope you all enjoy the photos!

WE ARE GETTIN HITCHED!!! Our little engagement story.

So this post is a little overdue, but I had to share it anyway!  Andy and I are finally getting hitched!  I am soooooo excited:) I couldn't have been more lucky to find a guy like him. We first met at a new years party 3 years ago.  I saw him and was instantly hooked.  Luckily I had a braid in my hair that night (braids are Andy's favorite:) and Andy wanted to meet me too, the babe with a braid. Ha ha ha! Long story short. Andy and I kept in touch over the years while I was at school.  We met up again that next year at the same New years party and made things a little more official. We both took turns going to visit each other while I was away.  We have had an absolute blast getting to know each other!  It has been one great adventure after another.  So when I finished school and moved back home we decided to take the next big step. Here is the little engagment story:)

Panda Dogs and Pikachu Cats???

When i was in Lake Powell a few weekends ago one of my friends mentioned that people in China were now dying their pets to look like panda bears and Pikachu characters.  At first i didn't really understand exactly how that would work until they pulled up some pics on the iphone.  I was DYING with how funny this was!!! Yes i also don't think it's right to Dye and animal, but you have to admit that this is hilarious.  Can you imagine seeing a someone who is on a run with a panda on a leash running next to them?! WHAT IN THE WORLD!!??? As for the Pikachu cats...I think they speak for themselves.  And i am pretty sure that the pic on the right is a rat or something lol.  Below is a video of a panda dog in action.  I gotta admit, some of these pups are pretty darn cute.  What do you think?

Down Town Chalk Fest!!! Some serious talent here.

I don't know if you have ever checked out the downtown chalk festival in Salt Lake, but it is seriously so flippin sweet!  I was blown away with all the talent that these artist have.  The colors, shapes, sizes and overall appearances of each picture was incredible.  Watching these artists was so interesting to hear and see how they go about completing such amazing pieces and their process through it.  The festival was at the Gateway in Down town Salt lake.  It was right through the middle of the mall and there were tons of people checkin out the artwork and participating in the events.  These types of events are some of my most favorite to go to.
