I can't believe 4 years has come and gone!!! I remember the day i left to school being as scared as a kitten in a dog pound, now i feel right at home! Shoot i gotta say it's been one heck of a ride these 4 years. I have learned so much not only in school, but in life as well. I have met people that i will never forget who have blessed my life in more ways than one. I have been able to be apart of a track team that was more like a family to me than just people i ran with everyday. I have laughed more these four years than i have my entire life!!! Oh so many hilarious memories that will stick with me forever. I have had the crazies/coolest roommates anyone could ask for and have done some CRAZY fun things that i probably will never be able to get away with again haha. So with this next post i am gonna do a little recap in a nutshell for ya about how the crazy things i was able to do and be apart of. I obviously can't write about everything that happened, but ill tell ya about some of my most favorite moments! Ahhh what a year, and one i will never forget:) Enjoy!
N to the Y to the C! New York Baby!!!!
1) So my sister, best friend Courtney, her mom and i all got to go to the big apple at the begining of last year!!! I had so much fun there! We got to see everything! Statue of liberty, Elis Island, Ground Zero, Carnege deli, The lion king, Chicago, six flags, Brooklyn, Time Square...We wore ourselves out this trip, and i loved every second of it. NY is a fabulous city, but it is so flippin busy ALL the time! It was neat to explore the kind of lifestyle those people live everyday. We had a few traumatic events happen( Mona you are such a good sport:) but everything went pretty dang well for the most part. Well NY i hope to see you again in the near future.
2) Oh man oh man. So some of my roommates and were asked to help a team out in the ragnar race at the begining of the year! Ha little did i know i would be running 9 miles, uphill, in 100 degree weather in vegas...I wanted to DIE!!!! Ha ha maybe i should have trained a little more before we went:) I can honestly say it was one of the hardest things i have EVER done! But we still had a blast, and have some funny jokes about it to this day:) We were lucky enough to be sponsored by the best chapstick company in the whole world!!! let me introduce you to ...
SHAKA LAKA LIP BLAKA!!!
It was so fun being sponsored by these guys! We got loads of free goodies including all the free chapstick we wanted! My personal favorite was Pineapple express, I think i prob ate more of it than really used it on my lips...It just tasted so freakin good.
Me after my 9 mile leg. I look sooo good.
This race was super hard but super fun at the same time. I actually plan on running it again one of these days, maybe in twenty years or so.
3) Oh FHE activities were the BEST!!! Mud football anyone?
4) Sneakin in to the haunted hospital, and underground tunnels. My friends and i became big fans of this over the years. We would always sneak into the abandoned hospital and scare ourselves to death!!! Ha some people might think were crazy for doin something like that, but we could't get enough of it! There were these way rad underground tunnels at the school that we found one night walkin around! So freakin sweet to mess around in.
5) HALLOWEEN!!! Every Halloween our school puts on a huge dance party called the HOWL. It's the one dance you can't miss. The roommates and i decided to all go as toothfairies haha. It was a killer time.
6) Christmas break!! Hittin up all the ugly sweater parties, and of course shovin peoples faces in the snow:) Nothin like Christmas time!
7) My first BIG photo shoot!!!!! Such a fun experience for me! I loved workin with 30 plus girls who just loved to dance:) The were such great models and i look forward to this shoot next year! Whooohooo!
8) My first time trying ZUMBA!!!! What a fun and killer way to work out! I seriously have never worked up such a sweat in one hour! One of my best friends(Robyn Warner) taught a Zumba class once a week that all the roommates would go to. It was so hilarious and so much fun to do. And did i mention that i got freakin RIPPED from it!!!????
Thank you Zumba for such amazing results.
9) I decided to go blonde! (I know in the pic it's a wig, but i really am blonde now haha) Ah i am still to this day getting used to it, but i find myself liking it more and more each day:)
10) The big cruise trip to Mexico and Catalina Island!!! One of my most favorite trips ever!! The roommates and i went with a bunch of our guy friends from cedar and had a blast in Catalina, Mexico, and the cruise ship!!! i mean all you can eat food, dance parties, swimming, cheap clothes and goodies, oh and did i mention free food? Ha that was the best part. I think the whole cruise idea is the way to go. I will definitely be hittin up one of those again SOON!!!
11) My sister and sister in law's crazy parties! This party was their Alias party, second year running! They seriously throw the coolest parties ever. Ha it was so rad. We had a bunch of different tests and missions to complete to win the prize. I can't wait for next years!
12) And of course my last year of track. What a bitter sweet ending to this sport i have been doing for 8 years. Bitter in the fact that i am leavin the coolest track team known to man!!! And also leavin the coolest and most helpful coaches i have ever had to honor of knowing. Sweet because i don't have to worry about wanting to throw up after or during every workout i do, having to watch what i eat everyday wondering if i might upchuck it at practice, having shin splints that feel like knives stabbing into your legs every time to take a step!!!, taking ice baths that make me scream and cry, running in the wind, rain, and snow, and feeling like i may shizz my pants running 300 meter hills. But hey i think it was all worth it:) Man i am gonna miss this team so much, they are the only reason that kept me comin back every year.
I was so lucky to be able to go to the Mt Sac Relays!!! Such a sweet meet to be at. I was able to compete in the Javelin against some amazing athletes that could throw farther than Hercules, and that's sayin something!!!
The ladies i have been competeing against the past three years! So fun getting to see them every year and see how much they have improved. Such amazing athletes.
I broke the Javelin Record!!!! Whoo hoo!!! I worked so flippin hard this year to do well in jav, and the hard work paid off! I don't know how long this record will last, but it's exciting to have it for awhile:)
The big bad throwers:)
The typical things we do every track meet we go to. Love you guys.
13) And last but not least the totally awesome/rad/hot/craziest roommates ever!!!!
Meet Kaeley. She is a hippie at heart, likes art, and still lives with me ha.
Meet Leah. She ran track with me, is tall, and is in China now teaching english...Ching, Chang, chong.
Meet Kenna Money. She is athletic, rocks at longboarding, and is hoot in a half.
Meet Sandee. She was cool, then she got married. ha love ya still!
Meet Janet. She likes ROTC, playing games on her computer, and kissing boys. I don't blame ya:)
Meet Miss Liz. She is a nurse, she likes to dance her little booty off, and she has the cutest clothes ever.
Meet yours truely.
I love you ladies!!! What an incredible year!! Thanks for all the rockin memories and fun times. I will miss you all.
